Here We Go

Procrastination is an interesting thing. Everybody does it. We all feel slightly guilty about it, sometimes even stressed. There are thousands of memes across the web comforting those of us who avoid doing that which needs to be done, many of which serve as fodder for the very activity they are addressing.

Well, this is me bucking the trend. I’ve talked about starting a blog for over 3 years. I’ve always had some things to say, and these days this medium is about the best way to say anything quickly and efficiently while using more than 140 characters. Still, as time has passed I’ve always had a reason for putting it off. Yesterday I ran out of reasons (because I stopped creating them), so here I am.

SANDWICH READING. Kinda weird, right? I was sitting on my couch watching Sportscenter and pondering what exactly I wanted this blog to be, what I wanted to accomplish by creating it, when the Jimmy John’s guy rang my doorbell. I’m serious. I went to the door and got my #9 Italian Nightclub and sat down on the couch. With the sub in my left hand, I was clicking around with my right, trying to find a template to use that would help create the page you are staring at right now. One proverbial light bulb above my head later and I had it – fresh and engaging content to read while eating a sandwich. Who doesn’t  that appeal to?

Sandwich Reading will center on three of my favorite things: sports, music, and food. But by no means will the words on this page be restricted to only those topics. I will be recording and relaying my experiences and opinions in an effort to create a reading experience that can be both entertaining and educating. I’ll share and expand on the interesting things I encounter, and I’ll provide a taste of the noteworthy ideas that bounce around in my head. And let’s make one thing clear right off the bat, Sandwich Reading will NEVER be is an introspective look into my personal life. I am not the 30-year-woman on Facebook who just had a baby, and adopted a puppy, and painted her bedroom, and clipped her toenails (kill me). This blog will be about the world with a dab of my opinions mixed in. Not about me.

So, with all that being said, here we go.
